Afternoon Theology Group – Wednesday 13 July, 2pm at 270A Waimari Road. The DVD session is on social justice and continues the theme of Mary’s recent sermons. The meeting will give us the opportunity to talk about the issues of justice and their relevance for our lives.
Open Ecumenical Gathering with Dr Hope Antone: Saturday, 9 July, 4.30-7.30pm, Upper Riccarton Methodist Church. This gathering will allow the Canterbury churches to share their experiences of workinhttps://durhamstreetmethodist.wordpress.com/?p=415&preview=trueg together after the earthquakes, as well as giving Dr Antone an opportunity to tell about her work as Executive Secretary for the Christian Conference of Asia’s Faith Mission and Unity programme. The title of her presentation will be “Towards a wider ecumenical vision”.
The centerpiece of the time will be a shared meal – please bring something Asian or something Kiwi for the meal.
Dr Antone’s special contributions are in the areas of Asian ecumenical theology and women’s theology, as well as working with ecumenical and Roman Catholic youth movements in Asia, and contributing to/editing ‘In God’s Image’.
